I know this game is going through major revisions (and I'm super excited to see it! And Starri's art is even prettier two years later!!) but this demo is still a very enjoyable playthrough.
There are lots of small moments in the dialogue that add quirks to the characters and are by themselves hilarious. I like bothering the impatient man. I want to trip him on his way to work. He can never be rid of me.
The art is charming, the jazz is snazzy, and the dynamic between the characters is fantastic; but the absolute best part of the game for me is the security guard. He's so tired that he sleeps on the job, but it's ok because he's tired. And hot. He has a bit of stubble. He dresses a little sloppy. He is babygirl. He said a couple of lines and then disappeared for the rest of the game. But I love him all the same. The distance makes the heart grow fonder.
10/10 for the security guard alone.
Wowie I love Night Sky in- I mean Pursuit of Truth it's so good I haven't played it yet but I bet it's good!
:DHey, I liked the demo! It's very well put together. Artwork is great (there's quite a few CG scenes even though it's a demo which is nice!). And the audio is very fitting - sfx blend well with the game and music is jazzy.
One thing that I didn't like is when multiple choices came up. It gives you a feeling of choice however, it locks you into getting the right choice. So even if you chose something wrong, it game is like oh that's wrong try again until you get it right - there's no consequences.
But overall, great demo! Also I noticed that there aren't any social links and stuff to follow your game development. Would highly recommend doing so, so that you can accumulate a following for when your game finally releases. And perhaps add in credits of the team so people who may be creators as well, can commission those artists and such.
I wish you the best with development!
Thank you for your kind words! I agree with the issue with choices. I wanted to remedy this by adding an HP system, but I was short on time. (This is my first time making a game)
It will take a while to have enough free time to work on this project again, especially since I'm working solo, but I'll definitely have social media updates when I resume working. Again, thank you so much for your advice and well wishes!
Woah, this is your first game!? From playing it, it seemed like you had experience already in game development. And you're solo developing it too! Good job!
